At the sites completion, we train the administrator of the site, in a 1-3 hour, one on one training session.
At the end of the training session, the new site administrator is able to upload images, change text, add pages/posts and manage their site efficiently.
Cameron first contacted Kimberley Web Design to update his existing site. Their existing site’s code was written by the previous web designer and had no ability for the client to be able to change anything themselves. The developer was also very hard to get in touch with. We installed a new theme for the styling of the website and transferred all the content into it, allowing Cameron to be able to edit the site himself.
There was an added problem of hosting being supplied by the web designer and domain names else where, making it difficult for the site owner to have control.
Cameron purchased hosting on KWD’s private dedicated server and so enjoys faster speed and also the assurance of knowing that everything is backed up and secure. Sometimes with shared hosting, your website can be placed with literally 100’s of other websites and if there are several websites that have a lot of traffic to them, this can slow all other websites down.
New images were added as well as a new page advertising their eco tours which utilised the Parallax effect which seems to be all the rage in web design at the moment. Parallax is a web design technique that allows components of a web page to move at varying speeds when a user scrolls. The effect is created when the background of a web page moves at a different speed from the rest of the elements when you scroll.
